An eVisa (Electronic Visa) is an actual visa issued by the Mozambican government that allows you to enter the country for specific purposes (e.g., tourism, business, sport, investment).
This is a full visa — it permits entry and stay in Mozambique under the terms and duration specified (e.g., 30, 60, 90 days, etc.). You apply before travel through the official online system. The approval is linked digitally to your passport.
ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is not a visa — it’s a pre-travel permission or authorization that certain visa-exempt travellers need before departing for Mozambique.
For example, Mozambique’s immigration authorities had introduced an ETA requirement in 2025 for citizens of some visa-exempt countries, meaning even though those travellers don’t need a visa for short stays, they still had to register online and obtain an ETA in advance.
Standard processing takes approximately 5 business days after you submit your application and complete the payment.
For Mozambique ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) It’s recommended to apply at least 48 hours before your planned departure to ensure approval in time.
You can track your Mozambique eVisa application online using the reference number you got when you applied:
Go to the official eVisa portal’s “Check Status” page.
Enter your application reference number (and sometimes your email or passport number) as prompted.
The system will show your status (e.g., Under Review, Approved, Rejected).
If your Mozambique eVisa application is rejected or multiple applications processed, the application fees are generally non-refundable — you won’t get your money back because the fee covers the processing work done by the authorities, even if the outcome is a refusal.
Ensure that each file you are trying to upload meets the required file extension and size limit as specified during the upload step. Uploads will only be successful if these conditions are met. Sometimes switching to a different web browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) can help resolve technical issues.

Yes — a person with dual nationality can apply for a Mozambique eVisa, if the passport they use for the eVisa application is eligible under Mozambique’s visa rules.
Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
In case of losing your eVisa, you can easily reprint it by accessing the online website or checking your email.
However, we recommend taking the following precautions:
Print two copies of your visa and keep them with you during your travel.
Take a screenshot of your eVisa and save it on your mobile device.
Save the email containing your eVisa attachment for reference.
If your application is found to have missing or incorrect documents, the process works as follows:
• You will receive a preliminary rejection email clearly stating which documents are missing or incorrect.
• From the date of that email, you are given 5 calendar days to upload the required or corrected documents through the application system.
• If you successfully upload the requested documents within these 5 days, your application will continue to be processed.
• If you fail to upload the documents within the 5-day window, your application will be automatically rejected.
Once the application is automatically rejected due to non-submission within the 5 days, you will need to:
• Submit a fresh application, and
• Ensure that all required documents are complete, correct, and uploaded at the time of submission to avoid rejection again.
Note: The five (5) day timeframe for uploading the required documents is applicable exclusively to cases of preliminary rejection and is not applicable in cases of visa rejection.
